About Owen

Hi, I'm Owen, and this is me in my natural habitat - on top of Mount Pirongia in the Waikato region of New Zealand. I'm a husband and father of four kids - two girls, two boys - mostly in high school now , and I'm a keen runner - road and trail.

I'm a jack of all trades coming from an IT and electronics background. I've spent time in hardware, software, systems, business analyst, customer success, logistics and support roles and most significantly project and PMO management with a heavy dose of Agile in the mix.

And I'm a professional leadership and team coach.

In 2016 I finally managed to articulate my purpose: giving teams wings. I enjoy getting teams up and running and then really performing. Coaching plays directly into that, and nicely complements my hard skills gained from my years as engineer, project manager and PMO Manager. My vision is "Waste free product development" and my mission is "To empower and equip leaders and project teams to achieve more with less."

I value humility and curiosity because they help me be a better husband, father and coach. I find the essence of great listening is embedded in the thought "it's not about me", and I have a special interest in the subject of humility because of the huge influence adopting this mindset has had in my life.

Other values like respect, integrity, honesty are important also, but I consider them table stakes in any relationship.

Patience I'm leaving until after the kids have left home. It's be easier to master then.
